How do you greet the dawn of a new day? Hurriedly or peacefully? Television news or podcast? Coffee on the run or breakfast with people? Time with your to-do list or time with God?
Each dawn holds the opportunity of progress toward our aspirations. Will we try to go it alone or will we move with God? Will we allow Him to influence our decisions and trust Him with our outcomes? Today, can we pause a beat to give Him room in our thoughts and hearts?
Your answers to all of these questions happen in brief, passing moments. If we begin with God, we remain mindful of His love, grace, mercy and presence amid our days.
As you dress, put on the armor of God’s light and go out in joy!
Matthew 4:16, English Standard Version: “The people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.”
Romans 13:12, English Standard Version: “The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
Psalm 112:4, English Standard Version: “Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.”
