LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Light of the World

Christmas reminds us of the pure gift of Christ’s love and sacrifice. Christ is our light, the light of the world.

He restored our relationship with Father God, and as described in 2 Peter 1:3, “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

John 12:46, The Message: “Jesus summed it all up when he cried out, ‘Whoever believes in me, believes not just in me but in the One who sent me. Whoever looks at me is looking, in fact, at the One who sent me. I am Light that has come into the world so that all who believe in me won’t have to stay any longer in the dark.’”

John 8:12, Living Bible: “Later, in one of his talks, Jesus said to the people, ‘I am the Light of the world. So if you follow me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, for living light will flood your path.’”

Romans 3:24 The Message: “God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.”
