FIND YOUR PEACE

Find Your Peace

What is peace to you? Free from worry and strife, a quietness in your mind and soul? Along the road of life, did you somehow try to make peace with yourself, a situation, or someone else? Perhaps you may even be angry with God. Can you ever find your peace?

Finally, find your peace in the precious promises of God.

Daily life can supply us with a barrage of images and interactions that provoke anything but peaceful thoughts and a peaceful spirit. Keeping ourselves in peace can be hard work and God knows it. God packed the Bible full of the ways and means for us to achieve a deep-down-inside, abiding peace. Peace is a decision, an action, a mind-set. Something to be pursued, embraced, and accepted.

We live in a world promoting an endless display of anger-tempting moments. How can we possibly win this mental and spiritual battle? By keeping focused on God. Give priority to His reality in your life. God can accept your anger toward Him and offer you the peace of His love in return. Spend time in prayer and reading His Book of promises. Listen to music based on these promises. Believe those promises and make them personal. I know it seems counterintuitive, but fight to find your peace!

Here is a list of verses in Psalms to begin your battle:

4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

29:11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

34:14 Turn your back on sin; do something good. Embrace peace—don’t let it get away!

37:37 Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace.
