If we will admit it, the simple things in life are the most enjoyable, profound, and memorable. Why do we give in to the tendency to make our lives complicated or more difficult?
This is not the heart of God. He desires our focus. We can avoid the trap of unfounded or unrealistic expectations by pausing before we react. Complications diminish when we train ourselves, before we speak, to breathe and think in simple terms, like “do unto others.”
Be free to accept God’s best. Act each day through His instructions, the Bible, and truly appreciate what you have and who you are. Look forward to enjoying life in simple things and His love and care.
Isaiah 33:15 & 16, The Message: “The answer’s simple: Live right, speak the truth, despise exploitation, refuse bribes, reject violence, avoid evil amusements. This is how you raise your standard of living! A safe and stable way to live. A nourishing, satisfying way to live.”
Matthew 7:12, The Message: “Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God’s Law and Prophets and this is what you get.”
