Be Fearless to Find Your Purpose

Be Fearless to Find Your Purpose

How can you be fearless to find your purpose? By living life!

Live intentionally in each moment. Visiting the past or dreaming about the future are natural, but don’t live there. Life is now.

Be grateful. Write what you are grateful for every day. Go back and reread if you get down and doubtful.

Focus on the positive. Don’t dwell on negative circumstances or people. Let stuff go. Move on.

Love yourself, seriously, REALLY love yourself. Practice acceptance and self-care.

Take risks and try new things. It’s not about being good at it, it is about the experience and growth.

Life is about people, not things. Get out of your head and interact with others.

Stop allowing fear to rule your thoughts and decisions.

Be fearless!

Not a long list or any easy list. Each of us will have a challenge with one or more of these items. As humans, we make things complicated. Sometimes circumstances seem to make challenges insurmountable. Some days we feel strong and other days we can just make it out of bed. We all need days of both. It’s okay to not be okay. Still, we can strive to keep going, honestly engaging each day for what it is.

Got off track? No worries. Recalculate. Need a break? Rest, recharge, and refresh. Never forget God is with you and His promises are your reality based on faith and not performance.

Remember this: “God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.” Lamentations 3:22-24

I love what author Holley Gerth recently wrote in an email:

“If we want to be part of God’s purposes today, then we can start by simply loving him, others, and ourselves. That means standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes can be worship. It means that another diaper changed can be an act of sacred service. It means the work project done well can be an offering. It means we don’t have to find purpose only “out there.” It can also be “right here.”

So powerful and true. Purpose is found in presence, gratitude, love, and trust in God’s daily grace.

I’ve always loved this quote from Sid Caesar: “ There’s a now, a was, and a gonna be. Now is now, and after now is a was. And what comes after the was is a gonna be. It hasn’t happened yet. It’s gonna happen as soon as the now is over. But if you have a good now, you’re bound to have a good was and a good gonna be. But after the bad now comes a bad was. But if you have a bad now and dwell on it, you’re going to have a bad gonna be and you’re going to have a bad cycle. If you learn from the bad was, you can turn the bad gonna be into a good gonna be. The only way you can change the cycle is after the was. If you carry the bad wases around with you, they get heavy and become should’a could’as – I should’a done this, I could’a done that.

If you learn from the was, you’ll have a great now; you won’t repeat the same mistakes. It will bring you to a good now, which changes the cycle to a good was, and a good gonna be. You need to learn from the wases. It’s all about changing your attitude.”

What a great quote, Keith! Thank you for sharing it with me. I imagine Sid Caesar lived his advice, he was a very funny guy! Don’t be surprised if I use in a future post. 🙂
