We want to keep building on our past motivations, so continue to keep in mind being kind and gentleness. Let’s add our next focus:
“Believe”
When we think about what we believe, we may automatically go to personal feelings, values, relationships, or religion. Perhaps even opposite thoughts, like doubt or fear.
What we believe is a matter of choice. Even when we think we are not believing in anything, we are still making a choice. Our families or culture may instill our beliefs in us. Some of our beliefs can change, and I would suggest should change over time as we mature.
Because this is such a big subject, today let’s narrow your focus to the things you can choose to believe about yourself:
- capable
- resilient
- responsible
- courageous
- confident
- valuable
- unique
- kind
- gentle
- loving and lovable
- fearless
- fill in the blank—I am…
Do you remember the old cartoon where Sylvester the cat considers his motivations toward Tweety bird?
He listens as Angel Sylvester sitting on one shoulder and Devil Sylvester sitting on the other shoulder debate if he is going to choose to be a good kitty or a bad kitty. In order to stay positive, I recommend you stay on the side of the angel. 😇
