This Regular Girl Devos Retro-edition: Seasons, was originally published in April 2020.

I have always loved the changing of seasons. When I wrote this post, we were just in the beginning months of the pandemic, so I took comfort in what seemed to be the only thing I could count on: spring was happening no matter what!
We all want our seasons filled with beautiful selfie-moments. But a problem-free life is only a fantasy. The Bible tells us everyone has troubles, and God seeks to form our attitudes toward them.
Fact of life: change happens!
Our lives are full of ups and downs. Like the seasons, everything changes, maybe quickly, sometimes slowly. As we accept the cold of winter, embracing change as a normal part of life can ease the discomfort. Often, we can only make it through the day and look forward to Spring.
BIGGER fact of life: God is always here!!
God promises to be with us in every season of life, offering us encouragement, reassurance, comfort, and strength. Think sunscreen: apply prayerful words from the Bible liberally and frequently to help avoid the “sting” of circumstances.
Don’t be afraid of change. God is all about change. It is okay to feel uncomfortable or even fearful at the first sign of change. But encourage yourself in faith. As your trust in God grows, you will appreciate the adventures being offered to you and anticipate every changing season. Just keep your sunny-side-up!
Here we are, 4 years after the pandemic, and the seasons are still changing and God is still in heaven. But, are we living a life of peace in Him? It’s never too late to begin!
Trust God to help you build a life of peace in Him. Check out the video and top posts on peace on my Build a Life of Peace page. This page also includes a free fun and downloadable workbook for you!
