Why celebrate seasons? Ask any butterfly, life is all about change! We can fight change or we can embrace it, even celebrate it. Focusing on seasonal changes can align us with the rhythm of life, synchronized physically, mentally, and spiritually with God and His creation.
Here are some ways to celebrate the seasons:
- Eat season foods. Eating seasonally has an impact on our health, environment, and economy. Get a list of seasonal foods by month and state, learn more about eating seasonally, even download an app on this helpful site: https://www.seasonalfoodguide.org/
- Decorate your home. Have fun brightening up your surroundings with the sights and smells that reflect the season. Change out throw pillows, knick knacks, pictures, bowls of seasonal fruit, flowers or greenery, change your scent choices of essential oils in your diffusers or candles.
- Get outside and notice the changes. We have a little local state park that we make a point to visit in every season. We visit our favorite spot in the park and notice the differences.
- Participate in your favorite seasonal activities. Fall pumpkin patch visit, winter skiing, spring rain walking, summer mountain hiking.
Colorful Seasons
As a way to help you celebrate the seasons, I am offering a free printable (sized 8 1/2 x 11) PDF download of my Seasons Coloring Book. I think you will love the images I found on Canva! I have coordinated the illustrations with verses from Ecclesiastes and a poem about the seasons I wrote myself.

Don’t color? Let me take a few moments to encourage you! The benefits of coloring are like a form of mediation, offering stress relief, improved focus, improved hand-eye coordination, improved motor skills, and boosted creativity. Not only that, but working with color influences our mood, induces memories, and stimulates your mind.
But, even if you don’t color, be sure and download the Seasons Coloring Book PDF and enjoy the beautiful artwork and words!
