BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS | ILLUMINATION SERIES

Be Strong and Courageous

This is our last entry in the Illumination Series. I pray the series helps you realize the importance of self-care, eliminate any guilt or misconception of selfishness, and empower you to action. I understand how difficult self-care can be. The work involved can be exhausting, but we must continue. God’s command is to be strong and courageous!

To help build your strength, I recommend reading The Jordan River Rules by Robert J. Morgan. In the book, he maps out 10 God-given strategies for moving forward in life. For example, in Rule #2, he tells us his research in the command “be strong” yielded thirty results. Several verses add, “and courageous,” and it followed at least 6 times I found, “don’t be afraid or discouraged.”

Living for God is difficult. Living in this world is difficult. You can go it alone, or you can go with God. The Bible is full of promises and there is always effort involved for us. Don’t see challenges as judgements, but opportunities to rely on God’s grace and strength, accessible to us by our faith in the sacrifice of Christ.

Go with God and know you have the backing you need. Have faith to receive His encouragement and strength!
