There is a time for work and a time for rest. Even God rested. “By the seventh day God had finished his work. On the seventh day he rested from all his work. God blessed the seventh day. He made it a Holy Day because on that day he rested from his work, all the creating God had done.” Genesis 2:3 The Message
God did not mean for us to overwork ourselves and not enjoy the abundance of the earth He made for us. Jesus practiced the value of rest in Mark 6:30-32: The apostles now returned to Jesus from their tour and told him all they had done and what they had said to the people they visited. Then Jesus suggested, “Let’s get away from the crowds for a while and rest.” For so many people were coming and going that they scarcely had time to eat. So they left by boat for a quieter spot.
Life in God is a life in balance.
Psalm 46:10, English Standard Version “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
