Listening to classic pop reminds me of a Bible verse that says there is nothing new under the sun. Somehow it is comforting to know I am not the only one to be heartbroken or lonely, feel regret or stew in my insecurities.
For instance, we have endless choices every day. As humans, our lives will be a mix tape of positive and negative experiences, regardless of past decisions, personality quirks, or physical appearance. Will we live in denial, regret, shame, or depression? How will we deal with negative stuff? Will we simply survive or resent, embrace, reject, or learn?
In other words, if we have Christ in our life, we get a whole new perspective. This relationship does not exclude us from painful experiences or emotions. But, our hearts can find peace knowing we cannot fail. We are never truly alone because God is with us. We can relax in our Yacht Rock Radio lessons.
