We all want our seasons filled with beautiful selfie-moments. But a problem-free life is only a fantasy. The Bible tells us everyone has troubles, and God seeks to form our attitudes toward them.

Our lives are full of ups and downs. Like the seasons, everything changes, maybe quickly, sometimes slowly. As we accept the cold of winter, embracing change as a normal part of life can ease the discomfort. Often, we can only make it through the day and look forward to Spring.

God promises to be with us in every season of life, offering us encouragement, reassurance, comfort, and strength. Think sunscreen: apply prayerful words from the Bible liberally and frequently to help avoid the “sting” of circumstances.

Don’t be afraid of change. God is all about change. It is okay to feel uncomfortable or even fearful at the first sign of change. But encourage yourself in faith. As your trust in God grows, you will appreciate the adventures being offered to you and anticipate every changing season. Keep your sunny-side-up!

Ecclesiastes 3:1, New International Version: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
