Inspiring Stories in Nature

Inspiring Stories

Teawater is away on sabbatical! I picture him binge-watching Simon’s Cat and Pink Panther cartoons, listening to his favorite classical cello music, indulging in his favorite tuna cat treats, and soaking up the sun with his toes in the sand!

While he is away, I hope my new feature, Inspiring Stories, will enliven your spirit with fresh ideas to share your God-given gifts with others.

In my post, Caterpillar Soup, I described butterfly encounters that, to me, felt like messages from God. It is not uncommon for people to feel an intense connection to God in nature.

In an article for the Lewis Center for Church Leadership, Beth Norcross, an expert in spirituality and nature writes that, especially after COVID, many are discovering the mental and spiritual health benefits of nature.

In 1951, A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP), began a student-led program in Yellowstone National Park. Today they have ministry teams in 75 locations in 45 national parks. From Alaska to the Virgin Islands, [they serve] “employees, residents, and visitors through interdenominational worship services on Sundays.”

Would your love for the beauty of creation prompt you to share your love for the creator? Have you ever had a unique God-experience in nature? Let me know in a comment below!

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
