Action Sheet for Looking Back and Moving Forward

Action Sheet

In my original post on Looking Back and Moving Forward, I tell the story of Billy Graham being asked whether he was a optimist or a pessimist. How would you answer that question?

Here’s a test for you, complete the word below:

_OPE.

What word came to mind, hope or nope, or maybe dope? There is no wrong answer. Many encourage us to be optimists, while being a pessimist gets a bad rap. In our graphic, Mr. Shaw tells us we need a bit of both. Sure, staying positive has its many benefits, but sometimes a little pessimism comes in handy.

Ted Talk speaker Simon Sinek said, “People who wonder whether the glass is half empty or half full miss the point. The glass is refillable.” Like everything in life, it is about balance. Find your balance and try not to worry too much about labels! After all, Psalms tells us God created us to be ourselves, and we become our best selves when we stick with God.
