What I can say about Thanksgiving? It is the second most popular holiday in America, only behind Christmas! Why? People you love and lots of food. What more do you need? Well, maybe football! Learn the history of our thanksgiving holiday here.

Everyone has their own traditions, sometimes changed by miles and circumstances. What about hosting a Friendsgiving celebration? Turkey doesn’t always have to top of the desired food list. I know one family that does a traditional Thanksgiving Lasagna every year. I am rather traditional and like my cranberry sauce to be round with little ridges molded in, thank you.

Perhaps you like to go out to celebrate. One year my husband and I were in Canada on Thanksgiving Day. The Canadian chef heard we were American and sent the waiter to ask if he had done well on his traditional thanksgiving meal. I told him the only thing that was missing were the crescent rolls. Fortunately, he had a good sense of humor and laughed.

Whatever our idea of the perfect Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving, we celebrate because we are thankful and grateful. Now, pass the crescent rolls please!
