Spring Party

Spring. We are coming out of our winter hibernation to enjoy colorful flowers and song-bird melodies!

Spring Inspiration

When planning a party, start with an inspiration photo. Your photo will help define your color choices and focus for the event. It also helps to keep your budget in line by limiting your choices. For a spring theme think: bright flowers, birds, and eggs.

Cut spring flowers show off well on their own, so consider displaying them individually in a collection of bud vases, in egg shells or egg cups, or small bouquets in a line of floral teacups and saucers. How about alternating tea cups with flowers and tea cups with grass and colored eggs? Yellow tulips and daffodils look amazing in blue vases. Birds could hold a place card greeting each guest at their plate, or showing the food names on a buffet line.

Use colorful, floral dishes you have on hand or borrow from a friend. Also consider scouring thrift and resale stores like Goodwill to find single items that may not be in a set. I am a big fan of mixing dishes, flatware and stemware. It makes a more interesting table.

Never shy away from using disposable items. Depending on the size of your party, it can make life so much easier. You can find almost any color or pattern at your local party or dollar store. Remember: you want to enjoy the party too and not worry about washing dishes!

Spring Food Ideas

Food doesn’t have to be fussy to be delicious. Go beyond the expected spiral-cut ham. (Although these are delicious and would make a fun a slider bar!) Try the amazing looking sandwich, pictured above, I found on the Duke’s Mayo website: A Fried Tomato BLT sandwich, YUM! Here is the link: https://www.dukesmayo.com/recipe/fried-tomato-blt/

Focusing on a fun dessert is like, well, the icing on the cake! (Sorry, couldn’t resist that one) Consider creating a small display area just for your dessert. A lot of us don’t eat dessert everyday so give it a special setting!
